44 Originals started with a simple idea:

Why should something designed for stillness look like everything else?

For founder Daphne Lewis, creativity has always been part of life. With a background in fashion and a lifelong love of fabrics, colour, shape and styling, creating has never been just a job it is a way of seeing the world.

Her work in fashion, events and styling taught her something important: the details create the feeling.

Then came meditation.

The more Daphne experienced the value of stillness, the more she noticed how little choice there was for people who wanted a meditation cushion that felt personal, contemporary and beautiful.

So she created her own.

WHY 44?

The name is personal but its meaning is bigger than that.

44 is the birth year of Daphne's mother, her own lucky number and a number she shares with her son.

Even though he now lives in Italy, 44 has become a little connection between them. When one of them notices 44  on a clock, a street sign, somewhere unexpected  a photo and two hearts are sent.

And perhaps that is exactly what 44 Originals is about:

Connection, meaning and the little things that make something feel like yours.

NOT JUST A CUSHION

The triangle became the signature.

Unexpected. Functional. Sculptural.

A shape designed to support stillness, but with enough personality to become part of the space around it.

Every piece is handmade in the Netherlands, with carefully selected fabrics, distinctive details and our signature orange stitching.

We don't follow the traditional look of meditation and yoga accessories.

We create pieces for people who appreciate design, individuality and the freedom to do things differently.

44 Originals creates original designs, limited editions and one of a kind pieces.

We keep collections intentionally small. Because something special doesn't need to be everywhere.

Some pieces are bold. Some are understated. Some are playful.

But every piece has a point of view.

44 Originals is also created for spaces.

We work with yoga studios, wellness spaces, retreats and hospitality concepts that want their interiors and experiences to feel as distinctive as the people who visit them.
